Dream + Create

Dream + Create is an introspective, reflective and meditative experience.  The insights that show up as we quiet our thoughts and let Spirit be expressed through our choices of images, text, color themes often surprise us with specific answers to the question of the month.

These collages, which are beautiful and unique to each of our creative dreamers, are less “visionboards” as they are “insight collages”.  The making of the collages facilitates self-coaching, focus, and inspiration. Because we create them in response to a specific question, they provide the visual images that our brain “recognizes” thereby shaping our thoughts and actions during the following weeks.

A powerful piece of Dream + Create is that we are building a ritual for creativity.  Whatever we believe God to be, we know that It is Creation itself.  Setting aside time for right-brain creative pursuits is entering into the realm of Spirit.  The act of creating art, whether it is music, dancing, cooking, gardening, or the visual arts, is us allowing Spirit to express itself in the luminous language of the soul.

In Dream + Create we are using the phases of the moon as metaphor.  It serves two purposes.  One is that it connects us city-dwellers with something bigger than the calendars on our smartphones. We become more aware of Nature, her cycles of death and rebirth, resting and exuberant creation, and we enter into that experience through our art.

The other purpose is less esoteric.  Tying our creative process to the moon cycle creates a space for ritual.  Ritual builds community, marks passages, sets aside sacred time, and becomes part of our cellular knowing.  Our bodies, minds, and hearts become attuned through ritual and, over time, settles into our very being as a practice.
